I hope you all are keeping your distance and staying healthy. With the season across all clubs coming to a sudden end, I thought I would firstly congratulate everyone on very successful Cherub season. We had fun and competitive racing in consistent breezes at Darling Point Sailing Club for the 2019/20 Nationals. Our NSW States series saw many varying sailing conditions over the 4 weekends, but had a great total of 40 different Cherubs race throughout the series. And each and every weekend we had good numbers of Cherubs sailing out of their home clubs, some new young sailors beginning to learn skiff sailing, to more seasoned Cherub sailors launching new boats and fine tuning their Cherub to get that competitive advantage.
Some updates for the current situation:
- The AGM and ‘Try a Cherub Sprint Series’ at Drummoyne has been postponed, we will aim to hold it as a pre-season event in August/September. Dates will be confirmed when a clearer understanding of the situation is available. The Facebook event will keep you up to date: https://www.facebook.com/events/300126414282436/
- Planning for the 2020/21 Nationals is underway for Port Stephens, please save the dates 28/12/20 – 4/1/21. https://www.facebook.com/events/2528876160714447/
Keep safe and stay healthy Cherubs, maybe isolation will be the perfect time to get some very early winter boat work done… Then we can make the most of being on the water when it’s all back on!
See you on the water soon,
