The 2020/21 Cherub Nationals at Port Stephens have been cancelled due to the current COVID restrictions in place. The Cherub National Council has regrettably come to this decision following the advice from Australian Sailing, and the current restrictive border closure that would prevent all states from attending. However, the committee is looking and hoping to hold a regatta in the same time period at PSSAC, but it will not be for the perpetual National trophies. We are currently working to develop how the event can be run in the current climate, while following government regulations. The main focus of the committee is to have a regatta that is open and inclusive to all those that are able to attend as per the restrictions at the time. The National Committee have felt it is important to give an early and clear message about the event to all. However, we do hope to try and run a regatta in some form over that time period, pending the restrictions. This means that planning will take place late, but it allows everyone to make their own decisions. We will keep you to date and informed as the planning develops.
Looking forward to seeing all the Cherubs out on the water for the beginning of the sailing season at all the local clubs in the coming weeks!
